The basic DIRECTV System includes: 18-inch dish antenna Set-top receiver Interactive/multi-functional remote control A DIRECTV Receiver and a DIRECTV Multi-Satellite 18" x 24" oval dish are required to receive local channels in some cities and our Spanish-language service.   Convenience Maximize your viewing enjoyment. Check channel number, time of day, and program start and end times - while viewing your programming. See what's playing up to 48 hours in advance. Search for channels by programming theme: movies, sports and more. Create customized lists of your favorite channels. Order pay per view movies and events easily with the push of a button on your remote control.   Control With the DIRECTV System you are in control of the channels and programs you allow into your home. Limit access to channels and to programs based on their ratings. Set pay per view spending limits.   You need a phone-line connection.   Each receiver with a phone-line connection is authorized for ordering certain sports programming, pay per view movies and special events - all with the convenience of your remote control. Additionally, if you have two or more receivers, connecting all receivers to the same land-based phone line qualifies you for programming on additional receivers for the nominal mirroring fee described below.   Get DIRECTV on all your TVs.   With a DIRECTV Receiver for each TV and Dual LNB dish, you can watch different shows on each TV. If all receivers are continuously connected to a land-based phone line (must use the same phone number), you pay your monthly programming cost for the first receiver and $4.99/mo. mirroring fee for each additional receiver.

Installation   You need an unobstructed view of the southern sky. Your dish needs a direct line of sight to our satellites. Make sure trees and buildings will not interfere.   We recommend Professional Installation. Professional installers provide customers a technically superior installation. The installer will install your dish for optimum reception. The installer will connect your receiver to your TV and VCR, plus answer any questions. Self -installation kits are available at most retail stores.   You can get DIRECTV programming in your apartment. With a landlord's permission, many apartment residents have the dish installed on a south-facing surface. Check with your landlord first for approval.   You can take the DIRECTV System with you if you move. We distribute programming across the United States. Just call us with your new address.
